Hi all. I missed out on the recent HDM ED offering and have been rooting around looking for a box of ten. The box offered by our host was AME OCT 12 (I believe). I can find boxes of AME NOV and DEC 12. Does anyone have or know how the months after compare? Appreciate any comments.

My advice would be to just take a chance. Never be too anal about boxcodes - you can have three boxes with the exact same codes and still find one box inferior to the other ones.

Box codes offer a rough estimate at best and are meaningless at worst. If I hear about a boxcode I want to chase down, getting the factory and year right (or close) is good enough for me. Wrapper color/appearance is often a better indicator of what I can expect versus what was stamped on the box.

I will parrot what I have read before: box code months from May or before are rolled with tobacco that is, on average, one year older than tobacco from June onwards. Don't know if it's true, but I am amazed that more than half of the boxes I currently hold are stamped with a May month code.

Happy hunting!

Yes but Rob rejected plenty/ a fair few.

It is the reason why box codes are a guide at best. If I see a highly consistent box code I will generally call it.

They are the same. Let them rest for at least six months if they come from the East, in order to get the chemical smell out.

While I agree completely with your first statement, the second is patently false.

It's false that getting the factory and year code right is good enough for me???innocent.gif

And why you no comment on my third statement?smartass.gif

The false part is:
