Has anyone ever purchased a coffee subscription? I recently just grabbed one from angels cup and got my first shipment today.. I was super pumped for this as coffee and morning cigars tend to go hand in hand. The more I started to smoke with coffee in the morning the more I got into coffee as a hobby. Anyway, the subscription service seemed like a good idea due to the tasting app and notes as well as the broad range of coffees that will be delivered for me.

I always thought coffee to be a bit intimidating as a hobby because of the sheer amount of information and regions producing the product. I'm really excited about expanding my palate and hope that it translates over into cigar smoking as well. Just thought I would share and see if anyone else had experience with these services

I get my coffe from counter culture coffee. They are in NC I think so the coffee always is super fresh when it gets to me. They usually have Papuea New Guinea coffee that I like. My cousin is a missionary in that area and I try and do my small part to support the local people.

The Coffee-Business is just as complicated as is the Cigar-Business.Both need to be enjoyed.

+1 for Counter Culture. I have my subscription from there but I also get bags regularly from Sightglass in SF and locally (Boston Area) Blue Bottle and Flat Black.

My absolute favorite combo is a RyJ Ex4 or PLMC with a black cup of coffee in the morning. Few things in this world are better.

Try the BAROIDA coffee from counter culture. It taste like coffee and molasses if you can believe it! BTW I grind my own coffee and make pour over single cup coffee.

Try roasting your own beans as a hobby.

Most of the beans I buy are 6.00 a pound or less.

Since starting I have done 315 roasts, from city to vienna roast, and I roast a pound at a time.

Among the suppliers I use is nearly every country of origin and type of bean,in season.

Then try blending your own blend..........

Air popcorn popper works for a low budget roaster. I just order it because it's easier.

Roasting coffee to me is like rolling my own cigar..... Not my cup of tea, plus my wife would kill me for picking up a new hobby!

I use a stovetop popcorn maker similar to the Whirly-Pop,and it does a great job.

The key is to get the heat right so it roasts evenly, and there is a fairly wide range of heat that will work.

Start to finish a roast takes 16 to 18 minutes

I've been wanting to do the home roast with an air popper on the grill. Just need to wait for the sub zero temps and snow to leave us

Is smoke ever an issue using this method?

I'm simple. I have a Nespresso VertuoLine. Even though I love that I can use it for both espresso and coffee, I'm conflicted that I'm stuck to a limited amount of choices. Has anybody used the My-Caps or something similar to use their own blends? I would like to try them along with expanding my palette in coffee beans.
