Billb1960 Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 The BPC was the first and so far only Cuban cigar to really blow my skirt up. One of the best cigars I've ever smoked.

Billb1960 Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 What have you smoked that hasn't impressed you ? Sent by telepathic super powers -Stogie Boy The HDM Epi #2 was a major disappointment, tasted like a burning pile of leaves. The CoRo was good, the LGC Md'Or went from 'meh' to decent, the Party 898 was just OK and the Party Short was almost flavorless. I realize this is only 1 cigar/vitola from each marque and maybe my expectations are just too high but so far other than the BPC I'm just not getting the whole CC thing. Cuban tobacco does have a unique flavor but so far for me it hasn't been better than good Nicaraguan sticks. I still have a BBF, RASS EE, a couple of Punches and a Quai D'Orsay to go from this sampler so I'm still hoping for some great smokes.

When I want a mild smoke, the Le Hoyo line is nice, but I don't see myself buying boxes of HdM - just not in my wheelhouse and since I'm on a space and time budget, there's just plenty of other sticks that continue to wow me. I'd try some more brands before writing off CC. Sure, it may be your palate, but a good sampler can at least tour you through the major marcas to see if any of them chime. 1

I'm not writing off CC after a few mediocre sticks and I certainly didn't come here to bag on Cuban cigars, I'm just a little bewildered right now. I realize everyone's palate is a little different, I'm just trying to figure out the most efficient way to figure out where mine is in regards to CC. I've smoked enough NC to know whether I'm going to like a cigar or not even if I've never smoked one. Sure I get fooled once in a while, I still don't get the rave reviews for Pinolero from AJF or Cubanacan but for the most part I know what I like. I'm just not there yet with CC.
zappaFREAK Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Love me some bbf! A great cigar that is in my humi most of the time. Just got afresh box and am looking forward to it after getting over pneumonia!

I love them but every once and awhile you'll get a total dud. But the great ones can really sing! The Cuban cigar journey one can smoke is incomparable to the NC & DR stuff. The best Oliva this year won't touch a decent CC. But to each their own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
