HDM Epi #2 vs HDM Epi #1

Recommended Posts

Great brothers / sisters of FOH could you explain to me the differences in these two cigars.

Also why do we never see HDM Epi #1 offered by our host. Is it because they just

do not come up to the level and standard our host sets or are they harder to ge from Cuba.

Any feed back would be most helpful.

Personaly I bought A couple three pack of the Esp. and I didn't really care for them. To mild, I have both Epic.#1 and #2, just like what others have said the #2 just has A little more to it although the #1 is also good. I guess like everything else it comes down to personal taste!

The Epi #2 is a good short smoke

Epi #1 more refined and obviously longer.

Some would say that the Epi ESP is a hybrid of the two.

They (ESP) appear even less with our host than #1.

Which I suspect is a function of quality and what is delivered...

The Especiale is a 'gordito', shorter than a corona grande but with a fatter ring gauge. I've been enjoying the 25 cab I ordered last year from our host, but was surprised that they needed much more rest time than the Epi 2's which can almost always be lit ROTT.

The Epi 2 is the most robust of the bunch. The HDM flavors are very pronounced.

The Epi 1 is the most refined. As if the tobacco was aged a little. HDM flavor, but very classy.

And as stated above, the EE is a blend of the two. For me it needs the most time. Because it tries to mellow the profile, I feel it misses a bit. I wouldn't "kick it out of bed" however.
