WarriorPrincess Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Me again... I know you are probably thinking, she hardly ever posts and all of sudden there are two posts in one day I feel like I have been let loose, bad move Rob going overseas and leaving me in charge Anyway I was just thinking that we will have to organize a Xmas party for the staff here at FOH and where to go for it. Given that Rob is getting closer to 50 as the days pass, me well I am 51 and the rest of the staff (Alastair, Greg and Ben) here are 21 and under Do we go to dinner at a nice restaurant or do we have something up on the deck and Rob cooks ??? With the hours we work it can only be on the weekend and then the hard part is finding a weekend that everyone can make. Any suggestions?? Also given the staff numbers we have there won't be any "things you may regret the next day" situations that I can assure you Any good Xmas party stories you may want to share from past experience, try to keep them a little clean and name no names, just in case

polarbear Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 We have a small crew at our office 4 guys plus their various 'plus ones' We normally head out to dinner on the company account A nice meal, free booze (within reason) and decent company Its Rob Christmas party too, if he's going to pay for it (or at least, some of it) then you cant expect him to cook too If you want to do something up on the deck, maybe look at having it catered
Rye Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Small crew, why not get the gang together and see what the group would like. I just can't get over the idea of a Christmas with hot weather & no snow. I think I'd have to fly to Alberta with the gang & go snowboarding!
maverickdrinker Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Offsite is always good. Nice to be able to kick back and enjoy the company you are with vs. cooking/serving etc... A nice restaurant, champagne to start and vino/libations always makes for a good night. Taxi chits are a must so no one drinks and drives. If you can find a restaurant that also has live music (like dueling pianos) or a restuarant that is themed/provides an interactive show with the diners (we have a belly dancing restaurant and a italian wedding restaurant) it adds some levity. Hope this helps.
Fuzz Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Uhm, Di my dear, have you been drinking too much again? You wanna let Rob cook on the deck? Have you forgotten that this is the man that nearly blew up the BBQ when a fat fire almost burnt through the gas line?! Are you trying to burn the warehouse down?!
