shlomo Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Hell yea Shlo...the Pedro Cerrano blast..lol..you get major bonus points...I got to see Joey Belle,Thome and Manny play double A ball 15 minutes from my house at Thurman Munson Stadium in Canton,Ohio...and I loved that old dump of a stadium in Cleveland...me and my dad watched Nolan Ryan pitch his last game in Cleveland in 93 in that stadium...53,000 people showed up that day...the day before they prolly had 7,000 people in the stands...lol I wasn't trying to offend. The "old dump stadium" was just to me as having no cherished memories of the place. I still get nostalgic when thinking about our own local dump of a stadium the Olympic Stadium. Terrible venue for any sport, concert or anything really....but I miss it...
shlomo Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 I could also be hating on the Tigers because I had Verlander in a few fantasy drafts and he killed me in all of them. Not willing to dump him, not willing to start him regularly....just awful. 1

Smalls Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 I grew up in Kansas City. I was in grade school in '85 when they won the WS. I remember the classes at my school celebrating after the win. Beating the A's was great and taking game one against the Angels was Awesome too. I am happy with the progress this season regardless, but it would be nice to make the ALCS. The Angels have a lot of power in their bats though.
Maplepie Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 cardinals are so dirtyYupp! Despite being from Toronto, I've rooted for the Cards ever since Carpenter left for them. Sent by the Enigma on BlackBerry.
ramon_cojones Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 i always smile when people pick a random team they have no correlation with and they don't "root" for their home team LOL!!
shlomo Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Yupp! Despite being from Toronto, I've rooted for the Cards ever since Carpenter left for them. Sent by the Enigma on BlackBerry. Why were you a Carpenter fan? He was awful in Toronto....
shlomo Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 i always smile when people pick a random team they have no correlation with and they don't "root" for their home team LOL!! I dont root for my home team (Except the Expos). Not sure why thats a bad thing...?
Maplepie Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Why were you a Carpenter fan? He was awful in Toronto.... got better after the trade. got awful again but seriously, i don't know. that was back in 03 or something and i think he was there when we did a run at the skydome - those were good times. made a great impression on me and i know it somewhere... 06 was a good year.
cigaraholic Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I guess Matt's still a Giant at heart. Pulls his pitcher with a 3 hitter and a borderline ball four with 2 outs in the 9th.. What a moron!! Thank You
Maplepie Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Thank You that was an unexpected conclusion you're....... welcome?
ned Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I love my Giants. Today's game was a long slog but so glad to see them come out on top. Hopefully they can wrap it up in SF soon.
alloy Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Choking Nats. 3 runs in 27 inninings? Very disappointed.
tjohn7 Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 Choking Nats. 3 runs in 27 inninings? Very disappointed. Don't talk to me about chokes. The Tigers laid a huge egg this weekend. Such a waste...
Smalls Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 KC getting it done!! Shocker so far! It would be nice if they would just keep the momentum going and win the next 8 games straight and wrap the whole thing up as quick as possible. 1

gtejada Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 One has to believe that this KC small run in this post season will come to an end pretty soon here...no?
Dozerhead Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Your right, but they had their chances twice recently. I'm just tired of seeing the same team's year after year is all. And I have been an Indians fan since Albert/Joey Belle was mashing, and even before that because of Pedro Cerrano and his live chicken sacrifices. Plus, it's a really great park, much better than the old dump. Not as great as Pittsburgh, but still fantastic.
Dozerhead Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Cerrano was a masher. Couldn't hit the curve, though.
brutusthebuckeye Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 One has to believe that this KC small run in this post season will come to an end pretty soon here...no?[/They look like a team of destiny right now and IF they make it to WS they better win because they won't b able to pay these guys when they want more money. The Yankees, red sox will buy up all there good players and it will b another 30 yrs before you hear about the royals again..
shlomo Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Cerrano was a masher. Couldn't hit the curve, though.
