I guess I kind of missed this discussion, and while what I consider their core traits are a bit different than RA's description, for me, they are the "most Partagas" of what's available with a Partagas band.

I believe you're thinking of the 'unvarnished' version. Those I believe were discontinued about a dozen years ago.

2014s are not very interesting, as 2015, and 2016, if the harvest reports are up to datepotty.gif

My favorite Partagas. Had a first 10-box PMS Nov13 last summer and was shocked that I picked the last a week ago. Never had an aged one, so can just guess, the refill with 25 OPG JUN14 will likely not become too much of age before they turn into smoke and ashes....

Still quite new in CCs but loved 898 from the beginning, even though pretty strong....

Haven't had them yet and been reluctant to pull the trigger on a box as I am not a huge Partagas fan. I'll have to give them a shot one of these days as I do love the size of the cigar.

Never tried one but I got one as part of a sampler from our host. It's been resting in the humidor for a couple weeks now. Might smoke it soon as I'm very interested as it's quite a polarising stick.

I had 10 partagas lustina.. Let em rest for 1 yr before I light one up . Wow just amazing ... Strong , sweet cedary, bit of fruit peel , still young .. But revisit in a yr
