Stogieninja Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Also referred to as glue mites in this instance. Apparently they nibble the glue used to join the bands. They go after cigar band glue? I think I'm buying some and introducing them to some select cigars in my stash...
Maplepie Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 They go after cigar band glue? I think I'm buying some and introducing them to some select cigars in my stash... I hate how people complain about the cigar glue sticking to the wrappers and breaking them off. There's a simple solution to it. Just age the damn things for 10 years. 3
soutso Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 It has been an overcast day More worried about sudden rain so I have to live with them for now. I just hate that they're there! I think I'll sell my stash for double what I paid and market them as cigars with roaming plume?
mk05 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 You're all wrong: it's mold. this is when you need to add emoticons! Smallclub doesn't need emoticons. He's French. It's implied.

soutso Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 I emptied the humidor and put it into direct sunlight for two days. I have not seen any mites since and have begun seasoning the humidor again. I separated the cigars into 5 ziplock bags and after inspecting them daily found more mites in one of the bags. The other four have been mite free thus far. Yesterday I put the bag with mites into another ziplock bag and straight into the freezer. How long is the recommended timeframe to leave them frozen? I plan on 48hours then into the fridge for 24 hours then out.
