Quintero makes only TC cigars. Where do they get the short filler from? Is it leftovers from another major brand? If so, which brand.

Trevor's site says they are rolled at Cienfuegos factory. What else is rolled there? Could this be a clue as to which marca they may use the leftovers from? It also says they're made from tobacco from Vuelta Abajo and Semi Vuelta regions. Is this any kind of clue too?

Thanks to Cap't Quint I tried these and like 'em. Love 'em for the price. Just curious and to their parentage.

Doesn't it answer your question? Anyway that's all you will know I'm afraid.

Short filler is not necessary leftovers from another production. And knowing from which village/farm it comes is probably less significant than having a clue on the sorting houses.

I get my tobacco from the shops just like everyone else :D

I'd guess that they have their own blend just like premium cigars mainly as the flavours are very consistent, if they were made with left overs the blends would be all over the place. Just not from the super quality farms, still the tobacco used, especially over recent years has been very good quality imo.

Maybe the left overs from cigars for export are made into the peso cigars?

Actually, no it doesn't. I'm a bit of a retard when it comes to Cuban tobacco and cigars. That's why I came to FOH to learn and glean a little knowledge from the experienced elders/veterans here.

On a strict geographic point, you will never have a more detailed answer. No one in the world will tell you from which village or finca the tobac comes from…

TMK, the only cases where precisions about the origin of the leaves were given, date from

- the Davidoff area,

- a bit later when the Quai d'Orsay liga was created,

- and recently, in the case of the Hoyo de San Juan, which is a "one finca cigar".
