Mystery of the Mastercase.

Roughly 95% of the time all Mastercases have the same box code within. Sometimes I see two codes to the same Mastercase but I put it down as a non important anomaly.

Yet I was going through a case of 2013 Punch Punch recently, good mastercase but not quite up to recent standards. I noticed 5 boxes with the old Punch Punch schematics/stickers. I picked them up and blow and behold.....2008.

How exactly does 5 boxes of 2008 Punch Punch be found in a Mastercase of 2013 Punch Punch....I have no idea.

Than they are slipping in junk just to move them.

Possibly but they were sealed. Of course it may have been a problem batch they were aware of.

It was interesting to me simply because I have never seen it before.

2008 Punch Punch were simply gross. I went through dozens of boxes and only bought a couple and all of them were awful.

2008 Punch Punch tubos were some of the best cigars I have ever smoked. Period. Very strange.

I agree with Shlomo, the Punch Punch tubos from 08 are excellent, but the dress boxes are flavorless.

Wow 5 yrs difference in the case... Sure is strange. Too bad they were plugged and not worthy of sharing here!

Sent back from a shop in Havana to the distributer for being plugged.

Then 6 years later, somebody in a Habanos warehouse says.

"'08? Fantástico, los asiáticos quieren estos!"

In six years time, somebody at a distributer in this part of the world will be putting gold "Vintage 2008" bands on each of those cigars.

Sounds like what happened to a stock of Punch Black Prince from 1999
