Well I couldn't resist. I love Ramon Allones, and corona gorda is my favorite size. So I took it upon myself to put together a 50 cab of Superiores. I got 5 boxes of may 12 with matching codes. Unfortunately I didn't have a corona gorda 50 count box to put them in, but I had an extra robusto box so I am just using that at the moment.

So does anyone else do this? If so, what cigars did you do it with. Post pictures as I'm sure people people will love to see them. Does anyone have a 50 cab of Partagas or Cohiba Grand Reserva?!

A member here did exactly the same thing with RA Sups a while back

I've had 2 boxes of RASCC that I turned into a cab and stored in a party shorts cab box.

Worked pretty well

I'm using two Mag50 25 count cabs to house a bundle of custom cananzao's and piramides. Prefer to score in cabs whenever possible.

So, cabs age differently or is it just an easier method to store 50 sticks?

It is said cabs age better

50 cabs are little too big for me. I like 25 SLB more

I thought about that, but who knows when Habanos SA will decide to axe these. I figured I might as well stock up.

How the heck does a corona gorda fit in a robusto box? Isn't the box too short?

For WookieMofo (aging in cabs): a bundle of 50 sticks in a cab is more exposed to each other (tobacco) than they are to the box (wood), furthermore, the box opening is considerably smaller than the opening of a dress box; leading to less air circulation/exchange? More tobacco less wood in the flavor mix? Who knows? But I buy the theory.

I was wondering the same thing. Aren't corona gordas 1/2 inch longer. I've never had a RA Sup. are they contortionists?

But to the OP, great idea. I love a bundle of fifty laying together!

I put them in sideways, They are a little to tall to close the lid, I guess I will have to smoke a few before I put a lid on them.

I love a good Cabinet.

I always buy my sticks in cabs if possible.

I wish all Marcas offered Cabinet instead of dress boxes

Being here in Vegas with an average R/h of 4-5 A conventional humidore is just to much work! I manage A couple of large cooliadors lined with premium spanish cedar,I made box's like your talking about, that will hold about 50 Carona Gordas drilled some ventilation holes in them, then spaced the box's to get good air flow. I use an Oasis electric humidifer and an extra fan on the other side two hygrometers one low on the right and the other higher on the other side.I know this is A little more than your question but I thought if anybody was struguling with A way to age this works fantastic; The only thing is open your cooler at least once A week as they dont breath the way A conveional humidore does. One more thing if I have had Monteys ageing for A long time and say want to switch to Hoyo's I wipe the inside down with vodka it leaves absolutly no oder and loader up!

Again Sorry for the run on paragraph! mikek
