EuroTrash Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Is it possible to have a Partagas Salomones from 2003? I thought they were 2008+ only and a few limited humidors etc? Supposedly this box is 2003. I'm confused!
Smallclub Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Yes it's possible, but be very careful. While the Salamones were not "officialy" in production at that time, a number of boxes of 25 and many singles without a box were sold through the Partagas LCDH and a few "insider" places. Very good cigars, much richer than the LCDH release. But of course they were followed by fakes rolled in clandestine workshops… Geneva and Paris were flooded with these Salomones in 2004/2005, sold under the counter. The price asked was insane. Beware.
Ryan Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 The LCDH edition came out in 2008. Some retailers had boxes of 25 of these before that. They had Habanos stickers on the boxes etc. Official distributer shave distanced themselves from them and whether or not they were an official Habanos release is all a bit 'up in the air'. They were very possibly rolled by Partagas rollers using Partagas tobacco but anything else is open to hearsay.
