You are blessed! My kids got to know my dad. Unfortunately they can't recall him pre-parkinsons. Up until he was 85 he could work rings around any one 1/2 his age. He occasionally smoked a cigar, and I didn't get into it until well after he passed. Would love to share one with him now..but I digress. I am glad all three of you had time to spend together. No amount of money can buy those memories!

I hug my father close every chance I get. God knows how many hugs we have left...but I will cherish each one.

Thats the way it should be!

My grandfather's birthday was yesterday (6/25). I'm 36 and he passed with Parkinson's when I was 18. He was my everything.

Pictures like this are priceless. Good for you,

Rob, for taking the time to be with your loved ones. And thanks for sharing. It's important to keep our lives in perspective.

Its always good to once in awhile get away and spend it with family, because in the end of our life that's the BEST memories we have.

Sweetness. All we catch at Myrtle Beach is Whiting it seems. Next time we do I will remember this beautiful story.

A day at the beach beats any day at work! And spending it with loved ones...even better!

It is so true...cherish any time you can spend with elderly parents, I just lost my mother several months ago at the age of 90 and I find myself taking a moment from my daily routines to think about some of the special times we had together. And no matter the age, you're never really prepared.
