dowjr1 Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Take a ninety minute one-way drive yesterday to pick up a 6ft high humidor a guy was selling on Craigslist. Hoping it was in as good of shape as advertised...which is to say like new. Joy! Humi looks great and I pay the man, load it on top of my roof racks and proceed towards home. To celebrate, I had brought along a NC to enjoy on the return trip. Traffic was fine, my tie down fine, and all is well...up until the point I cut the cigar. Disaster strikes as the wrapper splits open 1.5 inches right at the head. It was the only stogie I brought. Tried to smoke it anyway and the slit just killed the draw. So I had to send it out the window. I am hoping to redeem myself over this 3 day weekend.
Larsy Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I was reading and thinking something happened to the humi while on your way back lol
Bclass1 Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I was reading and thinking something happened to the humi while on your way back lol Yeah, the suspense was killing me on that one..
shlomo Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 It was a NC and the humi is ok. Celebrate! Agreed. Sucks about the cigar but look at the bigger picture!
Susanne Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I was waiting to hear the roof rack came tumbling down at 65 MPH... Hopefully you were able to celebrate the successful trip home with another from your collection.
jeremyk Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 What a bummer at least u got a good deal on a new humi Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
NJP Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 the moral of the story is.... Turn the cigar upside down and smoke.
jvel79 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 The story started out like it had potential to be a nightmare! Glad it didn't turn out that way.
dowjr1 Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 The only part about the humidor is the guy had cat litter crystals in there for humidification which had a certain scent to them. While the scent is not strong or unpleasant, it is still present nonetheless. So I am airing the humi out now in hopes of the scent going away.
