Popular Post LordAnubis Posted May 13, 2014 Popular Post Posted May 13, 2014 Why cigars people always ask me? I'm doing a trip through Central America. I've never been to the Americas before and I joined a tour group through G Adventures and was hoping it would be a good cultural and learning experience for me for Central American culture and history. So far this trip has pretty much been a party trip. A whole bunch of 20 year old girls (there are 12 girls and two guys on this trip, not that in complaining) who only seem to talk about which country they got drunk in. If I was that type of man these girls would be easy pickings. After 4 nights of going out with these girls and carrying several of them home and listening to endless whinging about their parents etc etc and more "ohhh my gawwwds" than any human being should have to endure in a lifetime, I decided a change was needed. I bailed on partying and went to Franks Cigar Bar on Roatan island. They have mainly non Cubans but a few very decent Cubans. Wide Churchill, Hoyo DC, Mag 46, was the usual. Along with non cubans such as Rocky Patel, Comacho and others. Anyway I chose a good Wide Churchill and sat down at the bar. In came an old British bloke and we said our hellos. I asked if he lived on the island and he talked about that. He asked me if I was Kenyan and I said yes, then asked if I was Indian heritage to which I was surprised and said yes again. He then started talking about his job doing some secret squirrel business with which ever government agencies etc etc. The conversation then drifted to politics, and a lot on religion as he had no idea about Islam and was genuinely interested in understanding. After that, moved on to family and **** head youngsters giving attitude to innocent people on the island etc and lastly it was late but moved on to the perfect fish and chips. The next day being a Friday I challenged him to cook some up for me to judge. Haven't had fish and chip Friday for ages!!! So arranged to meet him at the cigar bar for lunch and fish and chips. Sure enough next day fish and chips were brought, his first drink and cigar was on me as payment and components for the bloody awesome fish and chips and another great insightful conversation was had. That's what I like about cigars. Good people talking about important things and having a great time. Happy smokes to one and all. Miss you Perth boys. I'll be back in August. I'll confirm dates later but will shout out multiple herfs in the *****as section to keep you in the loop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 6
bradbrennan Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 I've been thinking a lot about the same question lately. All the more important to be a cigar with an equally rewarding character! And a drink to complement!
AlastairE Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Great story man! You truly do have some whirlwind adventures across the world I'm supremely jealous What countries have you visited in Central American on this trip? Also, I might as well ask what (I assume?) other people are thinking.... have you got any photos of these hot uninhibited 20 somethings?
