Later this summer I'll be on a cruise that ports in Falmouth Jamaica. Just curious if anyone has ever visited the LCDH there. I haven't been able to find much online about it. I'm planning on making a stop in.

Has anyone ever visited? Would like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks,

Dan

I would be suspicious of just about everything in Jamaica, even the LCDH.

I went there a year or two ago. Same scenario... cruise ship ported there for the day. As it was the only LCDH we would be stopping at I made sure to stop by. Nothing exciting honestly. Prices weren't terrible. The selection wasn't great and there isn't a real bar. They have limited seating although it never was crowded so that wasn't an issue. There is a little room that the owner/employee had a few bottles of alcohol and they would bring you a drink or two. They were pretty pushy on the sales. I wasn't interested in buying a bunch of cigars as I had plenty. I ended up purchasing a few but they have some special when you purchase 10 or more (or at least they did) and they really push you to buy at least ten. It was my first LCDH so I was happy to go but certainly wasn't impressed nor would I seek it out in the future.

I wanted to bring this thread out from the dead since I will be heading to Jamaica at the end of June for my wedding.  Me and some of my boys were thinking of making a trip down there but had a few questions for anyone with experience.  We heard it might only be open when there is a ship in port?  Is this true and does anyone know of a way to check and see when a ship may be in port?  Is it even worth the trip?  Our resort is about 20 mins up the road so its not like its horribly out of the way.  Any wisdom would be greatly appreciated!!

Also to add onto this, any info on the duty free at the Montego Bay airport would be awesome as well!!!

The LCDH is not bad. Its small and has all the basics. I purchased a handful of cigars. Everything was real. One of the best is the LCDH in Grand Cayman if you have a stop there. One word of caution, watch out for mites! Inspect all cigars thoroughly! I wouldnt worry about the cruise ships. That is a very routine stop.
