Not the first time I hear about it and couldn't find any thread about. Not my thing but...

Cigar Smoking World Championship Tournaments

In the run-up to the fifth international Cigar Smoking World Championship, the official competition for the long smoking of a Montecristo No. 4, qualification tournaments for the championship will be held in many countries. Initiator, Marko Bilic, will personally preside over compliance with the rules at the events.

These events will be the respective highpoints of comprehensive indulgence programs by individual organizers. Winners of the national championships will receive complimentary entry to the championship, which will be held between September 5 and 7, 2014 in Split, Croatia.
The current, officially acknowledged world record is 108 minutes and 38 seconds, held by the Russian Igor Korvin.

Switzerland: Big Alpine Smoke (April 11-13, 2014)

The Swiss qualification tournament is taking places at Bad Ragaz as part of the Big Alpine Smoke. Alongside a gala dinner and the championship, the programme also includes an optional golf tournament. Only a few places are still available and you are advised to book soon.

Sweden: Mellgrens

Sweden's first national championship will be held on 10 May in Mellgren's Lounge in Göteborg. Further information on the event will be available soon.

Denmark: Bigsmoke Copenhagen (June 1, 2014)

1 June will be under the sign of the cigar in Copenhagen. Following a Cuban breakfast with Nördig Cigars, there will be a "Longest Ash" contest with Royal Danish Cigars.
Lunch will be followed by the Danish Slow Smoking championship, and the event will be rounded off with a gala dinner.

Estonia: Tallinn Smoke Weekend (June 20-22, 2014)
This year the Tallinn Cigar Club is issuing an invitation to the Tallinn Smoke Weekend, which last year took place under the name Nordic Big Smoke. Information on the event will soon be available on the organiser's homepage. Austria: Smoke in the Alps (July 25-27, 2014)
The first tournament in Austria will be held in the heart of the mountains around Lech. The programme offers plenty of time to enjoy and relax with cigar seminars, free cigars, whisky and rum tastings and gourmet and gala dinners. The national champion will be determined in the preliminary round for Austria, and will be invited to participate in the World Championship in Split free of charge. Packages and individual bookings are available. Cigar Smoking World Championship (September 5-7, 2014, Split, Croatia)

The initiator of the official Cigar Smoking World Championship, Marko Bilic, is this year inviting participants to what is now the fifth Championship to Split. Participants can expect an exclusive weekend in celebration of life. Yacht tours and gala dinners form the accompanying programme to the fifth Championship, at which participants from around 20 countries will be competing for the title of World Champion.

Only 2 matches allowed. Get it lit right first time and hope for needing only 1 relight at most......challenging. Let's try a virtual one!

I think you cannot relight it. Everything you need to do has to be in the first minute, after that just puffing.

Wow, those are some pretty tough rules. I only had found the reference to allowing 2 matches.

The minutes penalties are brutal! Don't drop that ash or burn the ring.....

Still think it'd be fun to try. Peeks at the box of M4 in the humi lookaround.gif
