Faire Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 So some mold have been growing up on my cigars stored at my wineador. Please take a look at the pictures. I used towel paper to remove the mold and it quickly got removed so at least i think thats a good sign. Are these cigars smokeable after this? I also will watch out the humidity more carefully Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
El Presidente Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Lovely looking cigars. Wipe down and you will be fine mate. You may need to do it more than once but it is white mold and no great drama.
Laxman Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 No mold expert but have received boxes in worse shape then that with white mold. Wiped them down once or twice and no worries. Beautiful looking cigars, enjoy!
PapaDisco Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Have brushed and smoked far worse. See the Churchill pic below (they smoked great). I prefer a small artists brush rather than paper towel, but it probably doesn't matter.
Faire Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 Thank you guys! I was so scared. These beauty cigars were of course provided by FOH (not the mold of course, damn warm weather) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
pwhite Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 If your worried whether or not they're safe for human consumption, I will make the supreme sacrifice and smoke a few for you just to make sure that they are ok. No need to thank me, it's all in a days work.
Phillys Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 As many, I have seen worst and they were fine. I would also like to provide my services to test if your cigars are safe for consumption, free of charge of course, as it is the BOTL'y way. Brush off and enjoy!
HarveyBoulevard Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 First box with white mold freaked me out. Brushed it off and they have smoked great. Stored at proper RH and temp and it has not come back. Always an initial disappointment but that passes.
