First off I love Robs HQ PSP quality cigars and am sold on all of his picks. I have however noticed that some cigars in a box are superb while others are just average. This could be true with all cigars but I have really noticed it with my epicure 2 and my Monte 2's. Anyone else notice the variation of quality in a box of cigars .

I've experienced this a bunch of times. There will be one or two cigars in a great looking box that are just absolutely amazing 97+ point cigars. I think it's probably a matter of getting the blend and the construction just exactly perfect, therefore it's pretty rare. Of the top 10 cigars I've ever smoked, I think almost all of them have been this sort of anomaly. Head and shoulders above every other cigar from the same box. I've had boxes that I'd rate at consistently 94-95 points, but never above that. I don't think it's really possible to produce an ultra-high quality cigar with any kind of consistency.

I am glad I am not the only one. I thought it was what I had to drink or eat but it seems there are just inconsistent cigars in the bunch. By the way I will never buy a box outside of robs picks. They really are incredible.

When we consider that cigars in a box can be rolled by different rollers, possibly on different days, and are graded and boxed by color, it doesn't seem so far fetched.

I got a box of D4's through, the top layer were perfect but the bottom layer had 2 very badly damaged cigars. I snapped a quick picture and sent it of to Allister (I think it was) and he chucked a couple of singles in with my next order, gratis.
