Ken Gargett Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 lovely quote re this play. an (unattributed) quote in the Weekend Australian's article about the new Aussie production of 'Waiting for Godot'. 'It's a play in which nothing happens, twice.'
PaulP Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 “There's no lack of void.” Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot
Ryan Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I like this play a lot, there was a very good production here which ran and travelled for years. Saw it a few times. There was a Cuban production in Havana while I was there in November 2011, didn't get a chance to see it though. I'd have loved to have seen the reaction of a Cuban audience to it. A lot of what I see in Cuba reminds me of it, basically people waiting endlessly for nothing to happen but seeing the humour in it. For Beckett fans, John Hurt does a run every now and then of "Krapp's Last Tape", well worth a look.
