paullie Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Been a cigar smoker on and off usually a cheap pub variety with the occasional liqueur. Just got back from Cuba and visited a plantation and checked out a cigar factory. l think seeing vast quantities of cigars stacked up triggered my interest into cuban cigars. hopefully I'll bump into some of you in the future. Thanks again.
Habana Mike Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Hiya paullie and welcome! Did you smoke some of those cigars you saw?
laficion Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 A good welcome on the Cuban Cigar world of F.O.H.
ToroRph Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Yo Paullie. Hello to you as well. What factory was it, as a filthy yank, just a little curious. Cheers, Dylan
paullie Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 Thank you all for the warm welcome. For Habana Mike and ToroRph I did try the cigars the guys from the plantation rolled as I was taken to the drying barn I guess you would call it. The harvest was over so they had a few leaves hanging and stacked. (I was on a tour as I usually do when going to a new country). I was in the west of Havana - Pinar del Rio is both the name of the region and town of the factory. I don't know the factory name I was pretty over awed by the many rollers, the in depth tour commentary and huge stacks of finished cigars and ridiculously cheap prices for cigars and rum. I hope that gives you some answers
kevfi Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Hi Paullie. I hope you enjoyed some of those stacked cigars that you saw!! Welcome!
