CanuckSARTech
Some of my friends and former students having fun doing some joint training in a little inter-agency SAR-exercise earlier this month. Some very cool toys and great co-operation at all levels here locally.... http://www.flickr.com/photos/balloonguy1955/sets/72157635130054368/

CanuckSARTech
Hey Keith, A buddy of mine just graduated his SAR Tech course Here is a video from the course A very VERY well produced video. Those guys do an incredible job and do it extremely well! Our guys are just simple "ground pounders" as far as the SAR structure goes in Ontario. Still have loads and training and such (different SAR courses, navigating courses, rigging-for-rescue, mantracking, Radio ops, search master/management, advanced medical, BTLS, ACLS, etc., etc.). But if it gets too crazy, or into terrain that we can't simply get in and out of safely and reasonably for us or the patient/subject/victim, that's when the military SAR Techs are called in to do their "flying pumpkin" thing. Nothing beats an airlift! A great bunch.
