Need some advice. Have about 20 or so cigars that have sat without humidification for about a year. I won't get into reason why. Put them in my deaktop humi for about 2 years. The wrappers are toast. What should I do with them? Throw them out? Thought I would try and get ahold of some wrapper leaf...no luck there. Hate to toss em. Any suggestions.

Whilst these cigars will never be same as they were, perhaps something can be salvaged.

Even if the wrappers have split, the binder should hopefully hold the cigar together.

Rehumidify them slowly, bringing the humidity up slowly over a few weeks to avoid splitting the binder.

I expect the oils in your cigars will be gone forever, so the cold-draw aroma and much of the flavour will never come back, but they may still be smokeable..

Best of luck. Let us now how it goes.

Strip the wrappers

Chop em up and put them in a pipe and smoke them that way

Dead tobacco is dead tobacco. It will burn hot, taste harsh and bite your tongue…

Sadly they are done for. You could re-dehumidify them, but really...what for?

Steep them in grain alcohol and make a cigar extract. Use it to add to foods, beverages, make a cologne or a candle with it. Chop it up and roll some spliffs with it or add it to a batch of brownies. Crush it and set it out in a bowl as potpourri.

Use it to season your steaks when you try the dry-aged cheat.

Seriously, just throw it.

I've actually have seasoned a steak with tobacco before, as well as made pralines with it and used it in an ice cream bsse.

Have you smoked one yet?

I posted some time back that I took a few cigars in the car to smoke at a party or wedding. Anyway left them in the glovebox and forgot about them for a year. They were glorious!

Considering qld temps in winter and summer, let alone in car temps... I was shocked.

Give one a go.

How did they all turn out? I've heard of different tobacco flavored dishes before, but I always assumed it was one of those gastronomical "essences".

They were good, the ice cream and praline was better than the steak. I've cooked with cigar tobacco and cigarette tobacco before. I've used pipe tobacco to make certain whiskeys.
