Ryan
Saw this in the Sunday Times yesterday, article by AA Gill. El Celler has now been voted No. 1 restaurant in the world. http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/Magazine/article1285160.ece?CMP=OTH-gnws-standard-2013_07_13 I think access to the full article will be unrestricted in a few days. Ken mentioned this place years ago http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=75970&hl=+can%20+roca#entry75980 I tried to convince a group a people to go there for a work do about 3 years ago, there are often very cheap Ryanair flights (100 euro return) direct to Girona, cheap hotels and the tasting menu there was reasonable then. Instead, we went go-karting in Dublin and had ribs afterwards.. El Celler won't be as easy to get a booking now.

sabourin
Went in March just 2 weeks before it got World's Best Restaurant by Restaurant magazine and was my favourite meal ever. Purely on food I preferred it to all the recent top rated places such as Noma, El Bulli, Fat Duck, Mugaritz etc... It may not have had the theatrical as some of these places but the purity and focus of the main ingredient on each plate was masterful and what food should be all about at this level. Probably the only place in the above mentioned that would bother to go back to assuming I was paying (of course - invites would always be accepted ). But as you say, Ryan, booking should be tricky considering we booked in October for March before all this.
