Hey Steve,

I've had one....it was sort of bland, felt like they didn't know how to blend a cigar that large. That said, it was ROTT from a B&M.

I've seen other ones in B&Ms but always no aroma and very light, dry wrappers. I'm on the lookout myself for a good example to try.

I still think the RA Gorditos RE Canada should have been in 25 Boxes, and these Super Ramons should have been in 10 Boxes....seems prohibitively expensive to make these massive cigars in 25's.....IMHO

very, very enjoyable cigar. i rarely smoke monsters like this, but i gave a few a shot and they are excellent. robust, thick and rich flavours, smooth enjoyment...not terribly priced anymore...

Yes. A handlful by now. A very tasty cigar. Lot's of RA signature flavours. Stewed fruit, spice , etc. A good stick to age IMO. They keep getting better whenever I smoke them.

Not saying you can't taste it, just kind of a strange thing to find enjoyable in a cigar. I hope I never get stewed fruit in my cigar..

Wow. Why do you even bother responding sometimes? I taste what I taste, sometimes it matches up with what others experience, sometimes it does not. Sounds like your flavour profile might be sour grapes? I think many of us have been smoking long enough to pick out that the various marcas seem to have a consistent flavour profile. You don't always have to have the last word on every single thread.

You're such a back peddler Shlomo. You specifically called what he finds enjoyable in a cigar to be "strange", and laughed at him for calling stewed fruit a signature RA profile (which many would say it is classic RA). If you are going to criticize someone, have the balls not to back peddle when they push back. It makes you come off as a spineless loudmouth. Just one man's opinion.

I also taste Stewed Fruit in my aged RA's (particularly in my 898s)........and tart fruit in some of my favorite Punch cigars. I probably wouldn't like 'em as much if I didn't!

I prefer fresh fruit to stewed fruit, although fermented fruit can be extremely good also.

What the hell does stewed fruit taste like, I would associate stewed fruit with jam. But fruits all taste very remarkably different so are we talking sweet sour bitter acidic???

Ever have a Fruit Crumble, or some such dessert, like perhaps a Strawberry Rhubarb crumble or something? Where it's been baked so that the fruit under the crumble is warmed up, all tangy and ........stewed? (for lack of a better word!) Thats kind of what we mean.

Tangy, rich fruity taste. Hard to describe unless you've had it.

Stewed fruit is quite characteristic in good RA's. It's a general belief, yes, but if 80% of people agree and can taste it to some extent, then, well....

Stewed fruit - think of unsweetened, boiled down fruit mash. With RyJ let's say, for that in particular, there's quite usually a "stewed cherries" flavour. Think of cherry pie filling, but without all the sugar. Unsweetened cooked and simmered fruit. For RA, think of a Christmas cake, but without all that rum and sugar. The RA stewed fruit profile seems to have darker fruits - cherries, dates/prunes, a touch of apple, raspberries/blueberries. All boiled down and simmered/stewed into all-natural loveliness.

I have heard the RA flavor profile described as a hint of fruitcake, dried fruit, Christmas Cake etc. and occasionally I get a hit of that and like it. It is a hint of prune, apricot and cherries like my dear departed mother's Pesach fruit compote. I smoked a fantastic RA Libano RE Belicoso yesterday that hinted at it now and then. I love the Super Ramon's.

You post a lot and much of it is good and helpful but you cannot seem to help yourself to a bit of "high and mighty" posts now and then. You seem to have this desire to be heard on even the most trivial of things and giving us your "opinion". Re-assess your methods. There are ways to contribute without coming across as a jerk. We've met in person a couple of times and smoked. Sure. And in person you're a decent enough guy. And in all honestly, I bear no malice to you though I do not mind the verbal sparring now and then. It keeps the blood in my brain flowing. However, your online reputation is taking a beating. I don't know if you're being caustic half the time or really can't help yourself. So here's some friendly advice. If you care to heed it. Great. If not. I will not lose a wink of sleep. My advice is. Choose your words carefully.
