Enjoyed a beautiful spring day, first with a stellar PL Encantos, then, a while later, with a very good Bolivar PC.

The PL was a wonderfully unique smoke; Caramel, vanilla, coffee... But as soon as I lit the BPC, my wife, who had been outside with me as we were both reading, immediately commented that the BPC smelled wonderful, while the PL smelled "stale".

Curious. Share your experiences? Any cigars where your friends or significnt others prefer the smell?

Not based on a lot of data, but I think that of 90% of the times i've had complaints about the smell, the cigar has had a bad draw and a less enjoyable taste

I find that the more aged a stick the more often someone comments on the nice aroma. Price never seems to matter nor does it have anything to do with how much I enjoy the cigar :)

Perhaps not completely on topic.....

I can't recall anyone commenting on the aroma of a cigar I was smoking, but I've found that I can smell the aroma of someone else's cigar much more than a cigar I'm smoking myself. In a lounge, walking down the street, in a car, etc. Some smell sweeter, on the vanillin side while some do smell sharper / more pungent.

Agree with you 100%. I can pick up the aroma of a cigar from a mile away.....ok, slight exaggeration but I think you get my point.
