OZCUBAN Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Video: Lego Loom Machine has your wardrobe all sewn up <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/IPIJsdvDjsc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Proving you really can do anything with Lego, one designer has made a loom from the iconic plastic pieces that can knit and weave textiles, in a fashion never seen before. Tomasz Zając’s intricate Lego Loom Machine is built mostly from Lego bricks and runs off a Lego Mindstorms NXT kit. Operating just like a standard loom would, this Lego version takes a ball of wool and separates it into multiple strands. An arm then places another strand of the wool across the rest and pulls down to secure its placement and, in turn, weaving a knitwear tapestry. And there you have it – a DIY Lego textiles hub to start making clothe for your new winter wardrobe. To see a working video of the Lego Loom Machine, see below: @grace_robinson_
jayceskinner Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 That is awesome. I'm a huge fan of Lego and that is some great engineering.
finecigar Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 wow this is incredible! the things people do with Lego make my jaw drop
PigFish Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Cool Steve! When they design one that builds an honest politician I will buy the kit immeadiately! I had a 32 gal trash can of Legos that my brother and I shared as kids. I too was Lego crazed! I have not grown up, just out of Legos. I have replaced it the 32 gal trash can with a multi-terabite HDD and the Legos themselves with AutoCAD... -Piggy
Squarehead Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I still have my late sons Legos, dating back for 40 years. Now his nephews play with them.
