mazolaman Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 On a lighter note than hoax callers etc. Read this article this morning....http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/dec/07/shane-warne-australia-comeback Really? If you need a spinner, we'll give you KP Having admired his skill for so long, it would be sad to see him come back, and be smashed around the park.
Wil Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 He got smashed around the park in the Twenty20 last night. http://www.theage.com.au/sport/cricket/amid-all-the-hoopla-a-game-of-cricket-broke-out-20121207-2b1og.html The test comments were a publicity stunt for the Big Bash League, surely?

Probably right, never thunk of that. They keep saying stuff like that about Warne. Are you sure you don't want KP?

The team would suck, but I'd imagine they'd have some fun! Warney would have to put on 10-15 kilos before I'd take him seriously. Just doesn't look right!
dicko Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 I'm sure warnies comments are just meant for a laugh and to strike fear in the hearts of some English batsman. I reckon Lyons has bowled well and he should retain his spot even for consistencies sake ;-)

I reckon Lyons has bowled well and he should retain his spot even for consistencies sake ;-) If he wanted to get to the English (well, some of them are English) hearts, he would offer to make them dinner. But, he is quite skinny these days, is Liz still keeping him busy, or is that over now? I can never keep up. I guess what added weight to the story was Clarke saying he wanted him back, maybe he was also taking the piss somewhat. But they do roll out this story before every ashes....one day it might just come true...
westg Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 No no no. Love the guy and envy the life he has. Aus cricket really needs to get it's xhit together. If we all want Warney for the ashes then make him Micky Arthurton's right hand man. At least let them know he is coming in some capacity. Had a girlfriend who worked at the WACA years back ..she told me thier was two signs in the Austalia teams box watching the game, we were batting, stating please keep your feet of the rail and no smoking in this area..She walked in and there he was with his feet on the rail and smoking. Guys if there is a sign in a car park stating do not park in this bay ..he will park there. He is probably the most competitive in your face cricketer we will ever of had . I can't wait till he starts doing viagra ads.!!
winelover Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Shame Kenny G is still absent as when basking in the glory of thumping the Aussies downunder in the last Ashes, he said something along the lines of wait until you beat lndia in 1ndia before you can call your team great. We've not quite done that yet but should take a 2-1 series lead tomorrow. Next summer's Ashes will be great but I am expecting us to wrap up the series with a 2 tests clear lead. The OZ ream is getting desperate if they are thinking of wheeling out Warne, great as he is.

Good to see a decent fight on in India, but there's still a chance for them to draw the series. We should have done better against SA though...Bell is still being carried.
