PigFish Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 There is absolutely nothing equal in life. The sooner that people figure it out the more content they will be in their own skins. Contentment, IMHO is an individual event and endeavor as is envy, jealously, hatred and bigotry!!! I don't give a rat's posterior about what the majority of the "general populace," thinks about me. I am happier because of it. I have found that people can be judged on two separate but equally accurate levels, but the levels cannot be interchanged without nullifying each other. People do exhibit group behavior and that is where stereotype and prejudice originate. Stereotype is commonly accurate but not absolute. Nothing overrules the knowledge of the individual. The individual is where the assets and liabilities of each person exists. An individual cannot be accurately judged by a group model and a group model cannot be assesed by knowing one individual. You only know the qualities of a person by knowing them individually. Respect is not 'owed' to anyone. Courtesy is also a personal preference. I have deliberately not included the statements "in the eyes of the law, or of government," for a specific reason. That is a whole different story! I also consider a statement that people from a certain continent are greedy as offensive. You might as well say that people from a certain continent are stupid, ugly, inferior, all look the same, or can't drive with a camera hanging over their neck!!! -the Pig
