Duxnutz Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Should I be freezing cigars purchased that are 8-10 yrs old? I freeze all new recent stuff but after 5 yrs wouldn't you think that dormant lavae etc would be dead? Just worried about damaging the fragile older wrappers. Thoughts?
krs Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I would also like to know. I asked this question a while ago and got no answer...
Ryan Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Beetle eggs don't stay viable that long and the beetles life cycle is quick, depending on temperature. Your 8 - 10 year old cigars won't be hatching beetles. If you truly are concerned you should also ensure that they did not come into contact with fresh cigars, that may have contained beetles, and become "cross-contanimated".
