Should I be freezing cigars purchased that are 8-10 yrs old? I freeze all new recent stuff but after 5 yrs wouldn't you think that dormant lavae etc would be dead?

Just worried about damaging the fragile older wrappers.

Thoughts?

Beetle eggs don't stay viable that long and the beetles life cycle is quick, depending on temperature.

Your 8 - 10 year old cigars won't be hatching beetles.

If you truly are concerned you should also ensure that they did not come into contact with fresh cigars, that may have contained beetles, and become "cross-contanimated".
