I am torn between two cigars for my next box purchase. some feedback would be great.

the two cigars are:

San Cristobal De La Habana - La Punta

or

Sancho Panza - Belicosos

I have had the SCDLH before. i was a big fan of it. however, the Sancho Panza looks tempting from the description.

i would love to hear from people that have had both and compare the two as they relate to each other.

specifically, what one is stronger? is it a big difference in strength?

of the two is one spicier than the other?

are there any commonalities in the two beyond shape?

the Sancho Panza doesnt seem to have much acclaim... is there a reason for this?

thank you for any help in advance.

Peronally, I would not buy a box before having tried at least one. That being said, they are different cigars and it boils down to your taste. I prefer the Punta to the Sp Beli. The SP is quite light but also quite good with some Zacappa 23.

Try one before you pull the trigger on a box.

SC El principe I really liked. The la punta not as much. Never had a Sancho Panza but as others have said try before you buy. Unloading a box minus 2 cigars isn't a fun proposition.

What flavors/type of cigar are you looking for Kuzi?

If it's any help, we've a number of reviews of each cigar in the review forum. Use the search function (a bit hard to see the white cog on light gray background right now) and filter sancho panza, and punta.

Good luck and good reading smile.png

I would definately take the SCDLH over the Sancho Panza...I had the SP beli recently and it was like smoking air, way to light for my liking...

I agree.

I'm a big fan of the La Punta

Another fan of the La Punta here, always gives me almond notes. SP has become a bit of an 'also ran' brand in my recent experience, none of the traditional saltiness that marked the brand...

Just smoked a La Punta tonight. Would much recommend this to the Sancho Panza. It's okay but that's it - just okay. San Cristobel de la Habana has much, much more of the creamy, toasted, honeyed aroma familiar to Havana smokes IMHO than Sancho Panza. Just my 2 cents

this is just what i was looking for. I mean i like mild and medium smokes but i dont wanna feel like im not smoking anything. thanks for the heads up.

as far as the search feature goes...

i would have used it but i was looking for a comparison not so much just a review.

if i can compare one cigar that is fresh in my mind with another i have yet to have i can get a better idea.

trying one before a box is a bit more difficult for me. most of my cigar friends are in the NC boat and there is a good chance they wont have the one i wanna try. that, and i am a bit too new here to trade.

Marker... as much as i appreciate that offer, it is the Sancho Panza i am looking for. thats the one i have not had.

not begging here. rules are in a place for a reason.

all in all its not a big deal. im not even sure i have room in my 4 humidors for another box anyway. i can extend the "research and decision" part of the process for quite some time

I just had a la punta last night from a sampler (recommend a sampler), and it was nice. Not great, not a box cigar for me, that's just me, but I would buy singles. Nice draw, creamy, toasty, thick smoke, perfect burn.

Good luck!

Buy sone singles from our host the czar! Just because something may not show up on the storefront website, doesn't mean they don't have it!
