sg1234 Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I was recently answering some questions about my trip to Cuba earlier this year when I realized I haven't shared a custom Google map I created for Havana. This map is a collection of information gathered from the Havana issue of Cigar Aficionado, from various cigar forums, and internet research. There is a legend at the top left explaining what the various marker icons represent. Someone might find this useful, especially if it is your first trip to Havana. Let me know if there are questions or comments on the map. Havana map: http://goo.gl/2mVrF Note: Android users can cache any Google map on their smartphone for offline use for up to 30 days. This came in handy in Cuba where my cell phone doesn't work.
Hamlon Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I sure hope I get to use it someday! Good job and thanks for sharing!
cottierm Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Nice job! Thanks for sharing it. Best, Michel
gigabyte056 Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Wow, amazing job. Need to get back there, maybe can explain to the wife I need to research the map...
Nino Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Fantastic "work of love", my compliments, perfect for a cigar, music & food visit to Havana ! Guess I'll print it out so I have it with me, great information. Question : Is it really 25 CUC entry fee at Gato Tuerto now ?? Remember around 5 CUC earlier this year, at least week-days & slow nights
sg1234 Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 Nino, I think I got the Gato Tuerto entry fee information from Cigar Aficionado. We didn't actually go there in March, so I can't verify what it actually costs. I updated the map to reflect that this cost may be inaccurate. Aaron

Remember around 5 CUC earlier this year, at least week-days & slow nights Very nice map. shame it can't really be used while in Havana.I've never paid more than 5cuc into the Gato Tuerto, Nino Cigar aficionado wrote 25 cuc as the admission in their Havana edition last year too.
sg1234 Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 Very nice map. shame it can't really be used while in Havana. I used it while in Havana. GPS on my phone didn't work, so I didn't know exactly where I was. However, I used cross streets as a reference and the map served its purpose. It was more handy that unfolding a big paper map every time I wanted to find a destination. As I mentioned in the OP, Android users can cache Google maps for offline use. I believe iPhone users are out of luck.
sg1234 Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 Great Success! Your cornhole is loose like sleeve of wizard!

Aaron Thanks Aaron & Andy for the reply - I'll let you know what Gato Tuerto entry fee is nowadays in 2 weeks when I hit Havana again.. hope not an Oris watch or some-such-valuable-item from a so-called-El Presidente Australiano... should still be around 5 cookies, a friendly Buenas Noches and a good slap to the doorman's peanuts, problem is that tourists tend to screw up prices for us traveller's .... jk Aaron : great feature, thanks again !
compitaveggie Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Super cool Aaron, Thanks for taking the time to do this. I have a friend that is going in a few weeks and I will direct him to this, saved me a lot of time from doing this myself. Jose
