Already they have ushered in with plain packaging a whole new problem of fakes (Cigarettes and cigars). The black market will explode simply because legislation does not come with enforcement. They don't care. It is about being the "toughest on tobacco"Understand that, don't engage in the discourse. The recent cigar plain packaging legislation was a case in point. They asked for industry input. I pleaded for the industry to give none. In the end they tied up as many loopholes from industry submissions that they could find. They went their own way. seanbeer Posted August 22, 2012 Share Posted August 22, 2012 BTW, it wasn't legal to sell tobacco to anyone under the age of 16/18 in the UK i can't remeber, but I started smoking when I was 13 and i stopped when I was 27. hainsworth Posted August 25, 2012 Share Posted August 25, 2012 Personally, I think that by banning everyone born during 2000 and onwards from smoking will most likely make them rebel against the government and try to get their hands on cigarettes. I'm currently living in Tasmania, so I'd say that the state government's decision to try and put this into place is largely due to the demographic of the state (low income families, however a lot of them smoke, thus influencing their kids). Will plain packaged cigars eliminate the Cuban branded band all together, or just cover them with the generic band? Next, in Toronto we are seeing a difference in service out of your new HK offices in regard to importing. It is very frustrating. It is not within their control per se, I guess we are spoiled by the wonderfulness of the Czar. Last, I may be setting myself up for anthrax by mail here, but I would not care if your gorgeous cigars did arrive in plain packaging. I can't remember the exact years but stuff like cocaine and heroin were available from the local corner shop here until the 20/30s too, lol I bet the herfs were fantastic back in those days!!
