PatC Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 I am currently using a 16 bottle thermo wine fridge for my cigars. The weather has been a little crazy here lately and the power has gone out several times. The problem that I am having is when the power goes out and them comes back on the fridge gets reset which means the temperature starts dropping to 55 degrees from the 65 that i have it set at. And of course as the temperature decreases the humidity also drops. I want to avoid this from happening. If anything, I would prefer for it to just stay off when the power goes out, which would bring the temperature to 73(temp inside my house) and the humidity would come up to 67. Then I can just turn it back on. The problem is if the power goes out in the morning it can go 10-12 hours (while im at work) at the low temperature and humidity. So what im trying to find out is if there is any sort of device that you can plug the fridge into that will keep it powered off when the power goes out. Or if there is something I can do with the fridge itself to keep it from powering back up when the power has been lost. Thanks
warren516 Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Since the fridge doesn't run 100% of the time, you might want to put a UPS on it. The battery backup could handle the quick power flicks.

rcarlson Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Battery backup. Google. You should find one for less than $75 US.
SuprHasan Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 UPS is what I use. Gives me a good 70 minutes of runtime.
