Ken Gargett Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Sorry, Ken. LOL hey, i just see these as a long list of sad wannabees aspiring to bruce's crown. and even more sadly, coming up way short.
Ken Gargett Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 hey, i just see these as a long list of sad wannabees aspiring to bruce's crown. and even more sadly, coming up way short. although dylan and neil young et al are, of course, as profound. i have not been through all the pages so was wondering if rob put up neil diamond's 'jonathon livingston seagull'. i know how much he enjoys it, when he can't find 'dancing queen'.
Wicky Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 hey, i just see these as a long list of sad wannabees aspiring to bruce's crown. and even more sadly, coming up way short. I love you mate. But clearly you need to grow up.seriously!

phoenix Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Ten Years After Recorded Live (1973). one of the greatest Live Blues/Rock albums of all time. Period.
jps327 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Too many to mention, but some of my favorites. Here we go.... Bruce Springsteen- The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle **Not much Bruce love but this album will change your mind** as well as Born to Run Neil Young- Every album but I guess WELD, Harvest and Freedom are my favorites **Shameless plug but check out the Farm Aid 2012 Thread** Van Morrison- Astral Weeks, AMAZING
Habanos2000 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 So many albums, so little time! I'm sure I'll miss a few, but here goes... Ted Nugent - Double Live Gonzo. My first 8 track and first concert back in 1979. Took me from AM radio to real rock n roll! Rush - 2112. Saw them 3 or 4 times back in the 80's, from Permanent Waves through Grace under Pressure. Zeppelin- the entire catalogue. Ordered tickets to see them in Chicago but that was the year Bonham passed. Ac/dc - started with the Powerage lp, but loved them all the way through For Those About to Rock. Saw them live 3 times. After the third show I realized it wasnt anything new. Black Sabbath - (actually playing in Chicago tonight). We Sold our souls for rock and roll. Great compilation album. Scorpions - Love Drive through Love at First Sting are killer! Another great live band. Van Halen - the first time around original line up and the Sammy years were all excellent recordings. Metallica - from Ride through the Black album, absolutely the best in the biz at the time. Ozzy - Blizzard and Diary still stand the test of time. Randy Is a legend. If you can download a copy of the King Biscuit Flower Hour live show recorded in Montreal back in 81, it showcases Randy's unbelievable talent. I still listen to that recording regularly. Nirvana, Nevermind Pearl Jam - 10 Unfortunately not much out there that is new really gets me excited.
tmac77 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 alot of great albums posted up here but I did not see Lynryd Skynyrd's live album "One more from the road" Brilliant!!
phoenix Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 alot of great albums posted up here but I did not see Lynryd Skynyrd's live album "One more from the road" Brilliant!! I got 2 Skynyrd albums on my list. Could have easily made it 3 with this one. Steve Gaines (RIP) was a guitar genius and is sorely missed.
Wicky Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I forgot. SCORPIONS- In Trance (1975) Ain't never heard nothing like that before!
Wicky Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 A little off track but, Heads up to crusty old Sabbath fans like myself. You Tube - Black Sabbath Paris 1970 Full concert in a dinky hall. Pretty cool.
