Ophidion Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I have been holding off on reviews for a while but I couldn't help but gush about this cigar. I don't always smoke with the intention of reviewing but I ALWAYS take pictures. Prelight: Toothy seamless wrapper. Somewhat mottled dense, heavy but somewhat pliant. Draw is firm very nutty cold draw with a hint of spice. 1/3: Initial pull is lacking smoke. What gets through is leather coffee and nuts. the draw is a little firm but begins to open up after the first few pulls. After the draw opens up the smoke increases as does the flavor. 2/3: Coffee, soil, wet cedar very bitter cocoa. The amount of smoke has increased dramatically as has the intensity of flavor. Cigar has opened up quite a bit and the burn is much better than the first third. The nuttiness has fallen back a bit but the other flavors are coming through in spades. 3/3: Raw honey comb, coffee, nuts and wood. Incredible flavors that are really intense. Not a strong cigar but one that really grabs your attention. The burn is sharp and there is lots of thick smoke that piles flavor on top of flavor with every pull. Final thoughts: This was the first German RE I've ever had (some boli esp 2 are waiting for me at jaces) and it was probably the best re since I had my first boli b2. The flavors were intense but soft and not being a big fan of larger ring gauges, I was worried that it would be boring. How wrong I was. I have another one from a trade and I don't foresee myself holding onto it for any extended period of time unless I encase it in cement and bury it fifteen feet under the ground. Even then, I don't have high hopes that it will last more than a few weeks.

I never had a Sancho Panza.
Ophidion Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Me either. Maybe I should have started with something from the regular production line
Mr.T Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Thanks for nice review and pics! I just got a box in the mail last week. I'll will wait a couple weeks before trying one.
Zaphod42 Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I've had some good Sancho Panza's and some very bland ones, never quite sure what to expect and therefore don't end up ordering more than random singles. Sounds like this one is worth getting.
