al321 Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Finally finished building a desktop humidor. Took about six months of weekend mornings. Tiger maple box with redwood burl top and ebony banding: Interior is all spanish cedar. Using heartfelt 65% beads for humidification. Runs around 63% - had it open a little too long for the pic: Two trays - probably holds around 200 cigars:
UpInSmoak Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Really nice work. Enjoy it for a long time to come. Dan
al321 Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 Appreciate it! Now it's time for a cabinet...maybe I should build the wife a jewelry box first???
ZinZan Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Beautiful! You can give a professional humidor builder a run for their money.
al321 Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 Great job! I wish I can do something like this. Is this your first build? Thanks! Yep, first humidor....but I'm pretty sure not the last.
LLC Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Appreciate it! Now it's time for a cabinet...maybe I should build the wife a jewelry box first??? Might be cheaper to fill the Cabinet humidor
al321 Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 Are you generally handy with carpentry? If not, that means I have a shot! Pretty handy I guess.
al321 Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 Might be cheaper to fill the Cabinet humidor Sold...I'll start on the cabinet tomorrow!
Hollywood414 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 That is amazing craftsmanship! The best part is you know the quality of your humidor, how well it is put together. You don't have to rely on the ability of someone else to build a box that may or may not store your hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars worth of cigars.
