El Presidente Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Flew back in from the warehouse this morning after a successful expedition. I promise to get back to the myriad of e-mails and PM's today. I appreciate the patience. Tomorrow I will post a complete summary of the trip and stock recommendations + the ones to avoid Good to be back to a bloody cold and rainy Brisbane winter day!
Drguano Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Welcome back! Where is this warehouse that it requires (presumably) an airplane? Or do you use a broom like my wife does on the rare occasion?
El Presidente Posted June 27, 2012 Author Posted June 27, 2012 Welcome back! Where is this warehouse that it requires (presumably) an airplane? Or do you use a broom like my wife does on the rare occasion? We run two warehouses for logistical and insurance reasons. One the stock is shipped into and the other here at Czars where we bring what stock we require up each week for local buyers and FOH. Into the future (due to impending legislation) this will change and we will have our Czar warehouse and an offshore warehouse. All his will be detailed to members in July. There is never a dull moment in this business Lisa took the broom with her when she went on maternity leave
Drguano Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Let me know if Lisa wears hers out. We buy them in bulk. In fact, if the boss reads this, I will be able to deliver one (and need help removing it!)
Trevor2118 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Lisa took the broom with her when she went on maternity leave Brave words indeed.....

This plays directly into your recent rant and I completely agree with how you expressed yourself, along with many other FoH. I am looking forward to the fruits of your new logistical position and I hope your business goes through the roof! Good luck, my friend. Joe
jacktarnold Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I know it's a bunch of work at the warehouse Rob, but the information you come back with is very beneficial, but most important of all, appreciated. I think I can speak for all that we are grateful of your hard work.
ChanceSchmerr Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Rob - we all thoroughly appreciate your candid assessments of the cigars you sell us and the absolute you have to put up with from short-sighted Gov't wonks! There is a reason you got my business (and our business as a whole) and continue to retain it - Your commitment and enthusiasm for our mutual interest in cigars, coupled with honesty, integrity and devotion to your craft - don't ever lose it, Amigo! We're all behind you and will support your efforts to the utmost! Now, about those SLR Coronas LOL!!

investandprosper Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 You know Rob, you could always just buy a small ship and anchor yourself just off the coast in international waters... Then Rob would be a legit pirate!
TM-US Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 When you say an offshore warehouse, wouldn't it actually be easier to just have a bonded warehouse in Oz? That way, your overseas customers don't pay Australian taxes and your stock is exempt from any local laws- you would only have to label them or do whatever for the boxes that are sold in Oz- pay the duties and bring them out of the warehouse, the overseas stuff gets shipped directly from the bonded warehouse. I'm not an import/export expert, so maybe my understanding of all of this is flawed.
JohnLeupp Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Did this get posted in another thread? Looking to see if I am missing something. Thanks.
