coug28 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 We all have certain preferences when it comes to wrapper color, and particularly as it pertains to certain marcas. Which do you prefer to have that nice reddish hue, as opposed to say a Colorado Maduro wrapper? For me when I think "reddish hue", it starts with Upmann. And to some extent Partagas, but Id much rather have my Partagas void of the extremely dark wrappers...yet with nice oils of course. 898s seem to get more of that nice reddish hue than most other Partys. As for Colorado Maduro, gimmie dark Montes and VRs. I have, however, had nice luck with Monte PEs that are more claro than maduro though. So, what are your preferences for brands and wrapper coloration?
Colt45 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Given a choice, I prefer colorado to colorado claro for most - I'm not the biggest fan of really dark wrappers. As for the reddish hue, I also usually think Partagas and RyJ.
cigcars Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Reddish hue - Rosado, in other words? I do find those hues seem to have deeper, lush flavor. Maybe it's psychosomatic or "suggestive" to one's expectations?
El Presidente Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Reddish hue - Rosado, in other words? Correct Janet To me it is a sign of great R&J although I sometimes see them on excellent P2, SLR Pacifico, Juan Lopez Seleccion 4 and Partagas D4. I always get excited when I see it with sheen (oil).
