LGC Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I started smoking and buying in 2000 (if only I had the money to invest back then). All the Davidoffs, Dunhills, Don Candidos, Don Alfredos, etc. were available back then.I'm not sure how many smokes I've accumulated over the years, but I have 3 120qt coolers that are full. I've been on a number of cigar boards since starting (private and public boards) kicked off one of them . I used to chase the "expensive" sticks, but I'm well past that phase now. I don't find that much satisfaction from spending 30, 50, 100 bucks on a cigar anymore. My "bucket list" of cigars is a thing of the past. Of course I have older sticks that I cherish, but I also smoke newer stuff as well. My favorite age for a cigar is when it has passed the "sick" stage, but it still shows some vibrancy and body of youth. I don't take cigars seriously, nor do I take myself seriously... but the only thing I take seriously is enjoying life, and trying to take advantage of the opportunities when they are available. Due to recent health issues, I've had to take a step back and re-evaluate my priorities in life. I had this board bookmarked from a while back, but just recently came back to it. I find the atmosphere here to be refreshing. The guys here don't seem to be stuck on that "everything older is better" attitude... or the "my collection is bigger than your collection" attitude. In addition, there is a section devoted to my first love... fishing After coming back from a leave of absence at work, and being laid off... I have some spare time available. I look forward to reading and contributing to some posts. I've already used the tips on accelerated drying aging of steaks in the fridge, and it worked out great! See you guys on the board!
