nick17 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Does anyone know whats going on they have not re-opened and the number now skips to an automated french response... does any one know if they will be reopening soon?
cottierm Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 No idea either. I went to the supposed location of the new shop yesterday but there was nothing to see.
EL1990 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 They've moved to a location in the same building as Remy's.
Puros Y Vino Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 No word on opening. They said Mid May was a likely opening date.
nick17 Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 I hope they open soon i have been wanting to have a smoke on the patio soon
cottierm Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 No patio anymore, unfortunately! Sorry to disappoint you Nick. Best, Michel
nick17 Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 wow rely why not? that is definitely going to hurt business i know i would go and sit there from open well into the late afternoon having 2-3 smokes from there, good thing this is going to be a temporary location from what i was told they will be located there for only 8 months
cottierm Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Hi Nick, The reasons are simple: there is no patio coming with the shop which is now located in a very narrow lane. Of course, if we were living in a less regulated country there will be no problem to put three small tables and a few chairs outside of the shop but such is not the case anymore in our beautifully, highly 'civilized' countries! And quid of the patrons of the restaurant nearby? Andy and his team had already so many problems with the patrons of the coffee shop near their previous location! On the other hand, this is suppose to be a 'temporary' location (which may turn permanent, who knows!). Best, Michel I understood that they might take over the space above their store for their own patio or make some deal with Remy's. I really hope they're able to score their own rooftop. Remy's has become a bit "cigar unfriendly" this past summer. Apparently rowdy RedBull & Vodka drinking fratboys = "good crowd" and respectful, relaxed cigar smokers = "bad crowd"

BTW, South of Temperance is cigar friendly and right in the downtown core. Good for a Thursday night cigar?

maverickdrinker Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I can't make it either however, we should talk as a group about a couple of spots to get together. I am guessing that Park Hyatt is a given however, good to have options. The sites and sounds of South of Temperance are quite good as well...... Just saying. Earl's could be a good spot too.

I'm all for it. Temperance and Earl's are close to me. Mambo is always good too.
LLC Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I love Mambo and haven't tried the Earl's or Temperance. Anyone up for Mambo next Tuesday?

CanuckSARTech Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 ....Apparently rowdy RedBull & Vodka drinking fratboys = "good crowd" and respectful, relaxed cigar smokers = "bad crowd" And what if I represent both?!?!?!?
