thechenman Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I think maybe we all sometimes worry to much about nothing much. While I'm sure cigars of different marcas/vitolas/and whatnot will touch each other when stored together and oils over time can be transferred to and fro, but in the end, how many of us are going to be able to tell the difference? I look at the Blind Tasting Competition that our host is currently running as an indicator. Looking at that sampling, I'd have to say that the probability of the vast majority of us noticing a difference is unlikely if we can't even properly identify a cigar that has not been "cross contaminated". But that's just my $0.02...
Dbone Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 You guys have all made some great comments on this. I'm going to try either combining half empties together, or even moving them just to the single tray if they get that low and I need the room. Limited space is a blessing in disguise though, helps keep the game in perspective. All of the suggestions on "Buy the biggest humidor you can afford because you'll fill it up and then some" is correct LOL No space curbs the stock on hand, not always a bad thing
mm12 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I keep a large desktop in addition to my cabinet humidor. As boxes get towards empty, the remains get shoved into desktop.
Dbone Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 You know what else I was thinking about LOL not to over think it but... I buy 50 cabs of cigars I love. So after it gets about half full, buy a 25 dress box, toss those in on top, maybe separated by cedar sheet. Then I have access to two differently aged groups of the same cigar
