Evangundy Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Hey Guys, I recently acquired some CC's and some had a small amount of white mold on them. It was not plume. What are your thoughts on keeping them? The mold was no excessive at all, and the foots were not showing mold in them. Should I just wipe them down and go on my way, keeping an eye on them? Or pitch them?
jedipastor Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 just wipe them off, then keep an eye on them for a couple weeks. it won't damage the cigars unless it gets into the foot or has been on the wrapper for a long time (then it might discolor it). I've smoked plenty of previously-moldy cigars with no noticeable problems.
Ophidion Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 It was already said, but if its just on the wrapper it can be wiped off with a dry paper towel. The white mold isn't incredibly uncommon, but as long as you take care of it its really not a problem.
Blackham Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 you're fine there, don't worry. it's especially common in cardboard boxes, I usually just wipe them off and keep them in a good temp/humidity. They never came back for me
thechenman Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I prefer to lick the mold off myself...but hey...that's just me. Seriously though...if it didn't get to the foot, cut them, light them and smoke them.
