Geo17pip Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Hoyo de Monterrey le Hoyo du Prince VS. Partagas Super Partagas Need your opinion on what your guys think the differences are between these two smokes. Ive never had either in this vitola, so I'm interested as to what you guys think the flavor profile is for each smoke and which one you enjoy and why. Thank you guys! George
Geo17pip Posted April 11, 2012 Author Posted April 11, 2012 Anyone? Im kind of leaning towards the Partagas. Read the Hoyos are mild.
Smallclub Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Anyone? Im kind of leaning towards the Partagas. Read the Hoyos are mild. The Partagas is definitely much stronger, spicier, more intense, etc. To me the HdP's palette is more refined but narrower - mainly wood and roasted flavors…
Geo17pip Posted April 11, 2012 Author Posted April 11, 2012 I'm defiantly more into the stronger/spice aspects of a cigar so I think the Partagas are the way to go for me. What about fruit in cigars, which cigars do you guys taste the most fruit in? I loved the Mag 50's when i had them, lovely citrus/sweet fruit in them. I want that in a cigar!
geneticdrifter Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Fruity floral cigars sound delicious. Something I can pair with an IPA.
Azksig Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Should have an answer soon. Just recently got a box of HdM du Prince and they look and smell awesome. I'm planning on smoking 1 tonight or tomorrow.
maverickdrinker Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 If I had to pick between the two, I would pick the party super party. More complexity, strength and heft to it

I want that in a cigar! Try the Ramon Allones Specially Selected. Its flavour is often described as stewed fruit, but I get more of a dried fruit character. One of the best robustos going around.
El Presidente Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Du Prince for me. Have been remarkable of late. Cream/wood/medium full.
Geo17pip Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 El Pres! So you think this would be a good pick, you say its medium to full? I like that, but a lot of people say these are light. I like the fact that they come in a cab.
