Deemancpa Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I like them, had a 5er from 2007 smoked wonderfully. I have a 2010 box, smoking good as well. d
Lotusguy Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Meh - much prefer the Familiares but the whole line doesn't do much for me.
cottierm Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Hi Orion! Have you seen Colt's recent review of a Clasico from 2008: http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=109629 as well as mine of a 1999 specimen? http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=109578 If they are smoking good fresh from the box, 3 to 5 years of aging will turn them into fantastic smokes! Best, Michel
gersonmorelli Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I haven't had a Vegas Robaina in a while. I had some bad experiences in the past. Both with the Clasicos and the Don Alejandro. Really acrid and lots of ammonia. The Clasicos were relatively new and the Don Alejandros I let them age for 3 or 4 years, and still didn't do it. People say that these cigars have a wonderful chocolate profile when properly aged. Just never had one that caught my attention.
Orion21 Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 Thanks everyone. It seems when this cigar is good it's REALLY good. I also like that almost every review I have read has almost the same flavors being identified by the smokers. From what I have seen reading about different cigars different people taste and smell different things all of the time. I really like the profile of this cigar and am going to buy a box to age, especially now that they have been discontinued...
