Decent weather and Cottierm's recent Clasico review prompted me to reach for one of these. I wasn't intending on posting a review and was

smoking while reading (Napoleon - The Path to Power by Philip Dwyer), so this is more of an update - last posted a review in August 2010 -

and general notes.

Pre-light aroma of barnyard and raisin with a taste of cocoa powder. Nice construction and appearance overall. Firm draw but with ample smoke volume.

The overall taste character was of unsweetened chocolate, lightly spicy with hints of almond. Still some core green notes. Smooth overall, with

very nice body, the aforementioned chocolate character fairly palate coating. High quality tobacco.

These have progressed quite a bit since the 2010 review, and I feel are still maturing. In the previous review I mentioned I felt these had

very good potential, and this cigar met those expectations.

This got me thinking about some fairly recent member questions regarding cigars to put away and how we might make that determination, and this

is the main reason for this informal review....

These cigars showed something early on. Though not completely on point, they were already fairly well integrated and balanced - not disjointed

or out of whack. No real sharp edges, harshness, bitterness, etc.

Combined with previous experience with Famosos which had exhibited similar traits over a number of years, and with overall experience, I was

fairly confident that these cigars would improve - not just change, but move in a positive direction - with time. For me they have.

Keith, I'm a fair weather smoker :D

H2K - I agree about the magnum 46 - I've also found it to be a cigar that shows these kind of traits.

A nice cigar.
