jimmy81 Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I found this little bugger lurking in my kitchen, so I place it in a plastic bag to take some picture of it. Yes it can fly, when you touch it, it play death. Can someone tell me is this so called the tobacco beetles or not.? Thanks.
ptrthgr8 Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I'm no expert, but the one you show above seems different than the images I found when doing a quick web search. Here's some info that can help identify the little bugger: http://entomology.ifas.ufl.edu/creatures/urban/stored/cigarette_beetle.htm Again... I'm no expert. But I would definitely check your humidor if there's any concern about where this one came from. ~ Greg ~
Rushman Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 It doesn't look like the ones I've come into contact with unless you have it magnified. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631733,-87.070552
PartagasIV Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 If it was just "lurking in your kitchen" it's highly doubtful it's a tobacco beetle. They are not like cockroaches. They'd be in a cigar box or not at all.
mk05 Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Put a nice cigar in the bag and see if he likes it? Hehh
Smallclub Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Clean your kitchen before you worry about your cigars!
