Chad Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Just wondering your thoughts on freezing cigars to kill Beatles, does it hurt the cigars taste? Will it crack the wrapper? How long should they stay in the freezer? How long after the freezer can you put them into humidor? Thank you for your time. Chad.

Ginseng Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Will do thank you Indeed. You'll also get to read some fantastic and provocative discussion on the topic as well as find out what is currently being done in Havana. I'll give you a hint...cigars you receive today have already been frozen once. Wilkey
CanuckSARTech Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Indeed. You'll also get to read some fantastic and provocative discussion on the topic as well as find out what is currently being done in Havana. I'll give you a hint...cigars you receive today have already been frozen once. Wilkey Hopefully effectively.... We all know how well H S.A. does so many things....
Ginseng Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Oh, I didn't say a thing about effectiveness There's always a loophole, isn't there? Wilkey
OZCUBAN Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Hi All Like I have said on numerous occasions I have never ever froze a cigar ever And I live In a warm to scorching hot when it is summer ,and I have never seen or had trouble with beetles yet ( touch wood ) Cheers OZ
warren516 Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I thought that Pres had set up a taste testing with a handfull of people from here, but I don't recall seeing the results of the experiment.
zathan Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Word is that everything meant for export is frozen by Habanos S.A and everything sold localy is not. I always freeze what comes back from Cuba and after my last trip, while preppeing all my cigars for their cryo treatment, one of the Don Alejandro in the box had a beetle hole and the beetle was crawling at the bottom of the box. That in intself convinced me.
NMJoe Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 How long and how cold are you guys freezing your sticks. Mine go in to -10F for at least 24 hours. So far, so good, but as the saying goes, dead men tell no tales.
