Ginseng Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 The Red Dot versions are pretty close Yikes. Close to what? Wilkey
rfenst Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I totally agree with you on aging and I would like to add that because most of the Cohiba vitolas are extremely popular it is rather difficult to find an aged box still available. Any opinion on cardboard five-packs v. cedar boxes? Do the five-packs go "flat" after several years? What years for Cohiba are smoking well now and in what vitolas? Thanks.
aavkk Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Until you experience each of the different brands that Cuba puts out its hard to wrap your head around the idea that each of them are unique. Thats what many generations of expert blenders can create. 1
Dbone Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Take the band off, bet 9 out of 10 can't even tell the difference... I know I said 9 out of 10, Keith is the exception.
cigcars Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Yikes. Close to what? Wilkey 'stuff out of his house
RollsMD Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Sampler packs are a great idea to start. Lately i've been doing box splits with a buddy for more expensive sticks like Cohiba. When they are on, they just have such a unique taste to me and worth every cent. Smoking a on sig 4 is a sexy experience. When they are off, i feel like that old commercial with the Indian that sheds a tear when kids throw garbage on the side of the road. Get a couple different smaller vitolas at first and enjoy.
