OK has it seriously been a month since we started. I still haven't been able to keep the motivation. down to 113.2 I think it may be time to cut the carbs out almost entirely and now that my sons basketball season is over and I am not coaching anything right now so I hope to get to the gym at least twice a week. A picture of the prize might serve as motivation however. how about it Pres?

Only down to 102 kg. Been up and down with my food intake. Good week followed by bad week. The bad weeks mostly due to over consumption of wine and whiskey. :) Moderation, eh? I'm going to keep on it though.

Down 5.4 kilos to 108.3

This is mainly due to 10 days in Cuba eating chicken rice & beans, avoiding seafod beacuse i'm allergic to it, and switching from Buccanero fuerte to Kristal (less calories  ).

Of course the 10-12 cigars I was smoking a day while over there probably helped supress the appetite a bit compared to the 2 or 3 a week I normally smoke in Ireland!

Dara, given you have been on vacation....bloody good effort mate

Jumped on the scales this morning. 96. 2 kg down from the comp starting weight of 99.8 kg. 3.6kg lost for the month/star of the comp. 8.8 kg lost from the 27th of December when I came in at 105kg.

I am in a nice zone with nothing being too hard.

Keeping carbs to 20 a day. Exercising regularly (cardio weights/swimming). Cut right back on red wine. Has to fit under the daily carb budget which normally allows 1-2 glasses max (5 carbs a glass). Have turned to Scotch and Soda for my regular tipple (zero carbs).

Eating wise is plenty of fish and meats, cheese, salad, low carb wraps (great for Pizza as well), almonds, blueberries, miracle noodles. I don't go hungry and am enjoying my food.

Outside of the op, I am feeling healthy, lighter, fitter.

I doubt I will be able to reach my goal weight of 88kg before the end of this comp but will be thrilled to get to 90kg. I had to work out a food/drink and exercise plan that I can live with long term both here and when travelling. i think I have it nailed. Once I reach the goal weight I can increase the carb load to 50 a day in order to maintain the weight.

It has been very inspirational reading how many of you have gone to date. Keep it up and for those that have struggled, don't throw the towel in yet. Once you get in the zone, it all becomes a hell of a lot easier.

As part of my weight loss plan, I just had a bacon and egg roll! Maybe for lunch I will have a chicken schnitzel foccacia with mayo and cheese....

111kg. Need to watch what I eat. Have been doing a fitness program 3 days a week. My core has gotten much stronger and my body feels like should have. Still a fat bastard!

Been a sloppy month weight loss wise, but still managed to lose some weight. Hope I can get a stricter routine going next month.

Sorry to report after a concerted lack of effort during the first month, I've actually managed to gain a few pounds. How the hell did that happen. Now weighing in at a flabbergasting 236 lbs. For shame. Really been working out 2x a week, but not watching what I eat...an especially not watching what I drink. A drastic course of action may be called for. I may have to ban myself from the bar until this competition is over....

Last night I told myself no more alcohol for the rest of the month.

Tonight, Glenfiddich 15.

I know the feeling. According to the calorie tracking app on my Iphone, the calories from alcohol last night almost equaled the calories burned on my 5 mile run yesterday! :buddies: I've got a suspicion that's why so many of us are Fat Bastards...

Ok I am late to this party ( don't say it! ) but I have actually been trying to cut weight now for a couple of weeks. Friend showed me a App called 'Lose it" Free to download. It lets you put what weight you want to get to or maintain. and then as you add your food for the day it gives a very good reading of how many calories you can have and tells you if your over or under and by how much. You can also add your exercises and it can scan food bars! I'm down 8 lbs....

I had some rum and cigars the other night it put int he rum and the cigars were free :) Hoep it helps
